Revitalizing, Rescuing, Juicing + Jarring for Community Resilience

Food Share

The Food Share Program brings islanders together to harvest, share, and celebrate the abundance of locally grown food.

Potlucks n' Jam Food Exchanges

From June to December, come to Burgoyne Valley Community Farm to exchange homegrown or homemade foods, enjoy music, jamming and conversation. Share your abundance and be part of the growing community! Sundays: 2026 Dates TBD.

Fruit Harvests

Do you have crops of fruit trees you can't pick? Or, do you have time and energy for harvesting? We coordinate harvests with fruit tree owners, a crew of harvest volunteers and community partners. The harvest gets shared equally amongst treeholders, volunteers, and community organizations. This wonderful program reduces food waste, helps property owners, builds community, improves food security - and is lots of fun! To date we've rescued and redistributed over 40,000 pounds of food!

Produce Donation Drop-off

Drop off your fresh backyard produce to our community fridge at 189 Beddis Road - the Root.

Juicing, Jarring and Dehydrating

We offer affordable community juicing and dehydrator rentals out of the Root Food Hub. In 2026, we're piloting a 'jarring' program that allows community growers to hire Root staff to create food-safe jams, preserves and value-added products.
